一年が終わるってことは、毎日の出来事じゃないもんね。わりと珍しいかも。

この年を、一体どのように費やしたのだろう。

january・1月

前年に制作開始した梯子ノ上デの新譜の録音作業が新年に続いた。ほぼ僕のボーカル録りだった。いい加減に良いテイクを録らなかったりしていっぱい道草を食っていた。
上記の梯子新譜に、ドードーも参加してくれた。コーラスとギターなどを録音したとき、スタジオにピアニスト岩島のぞみもたまたまいて、ノリで彼女も参加してくれちゃった。当日は録音のため、僕が勤め先の新年会をすっぽかしたのだ。
ブルーアワーの音源のお手伝いも、前年から続く。
ユージュアルネイムという音楽制作団体の録音にも一曲ほど参加させてもらった。そちらの事務所に話し合いに行った日に豪雪が降り、帰りが困難でけっこう楽しかった。
動画削除シリーズを決行した。過去の動画をユーチューブから楽しく削除していった。
新しい音楽のやり方を探していて、サンプラーを購入。それから一度も触れておらぬ。
22日に吉祥寺フォースフロアで、ソロ出演。
23日に下北沢THREEで、煙湾のライブ。煙湾の活動はここで一旦休憩に入った。そうしようと二人ははっきり決めたわけではなく、ただ僕の精神があまり元気ではなく、「自然消滅」という苛立ちを招く休み方にしてしまった。ごめんね、功さん。
28日に渋谷ウエステッドタイムで、ソロ出演。
日本語レッスンを受ける。

Continued recording work on the new hashigo album. At this point it was mostly just my vocals that remained. I could just never bring myself to sing a decent take, so things dragged.
Dodo also participated on the new album. When we recorded their contributions, pianist Nozomi Iwashima also happened to be around the studio, so we corralled her too. I skipped my job's new year party to attend this session.
Continued to help record the new Bluehour CD (forthcoming).
Also participated on a song by Usual Name. The day I went out to their place to talk things over, we got hit by a blizzard. The whole city shut down, which I found quite pleasant.
Carried out a video deletion plan. Made a little extra room on YouTube for you.
In a search for new sounds, bought myself a sampler. Still haven't touched it.
On the 22nd, played solo at Fourth Floor (Kichijoji).
On the 23rd, kemuri no wan played at Three (Shimokitazawa). We haven't played a show since. I just haven't had my act together.
On the 28th, played solo at Wasted Time (Shibuya).
Took Japanese lessons.

february・2月

ブルーアワーの録音が続く。
梯子ノ上デの録音も続く。この頃に「不具合」のボーカルを、冒険的に重ねて録ってみた。
8日に吉祥寺フォースフロアで、ソロ出演。山本眞奈美さんというミュージシャンに出会う。
16日に三鷹おんがくのじかんで、梯子ノ上デの出演。惑星のかぞえかたさん、いなはたえみさんに出会う。8月〜9月のツアーのときに、いなはたさんに大変お世話になる。
18日に渋谷ウエステッドタイムで、ソロ出演。
24日に池袋鈴ん小屋で、梯子ノ上デの出演。悪友ナカヒラミキヒト氏は共演。あとAlan Pattonさんにも出会う。6月に梯子が企画するライブに、Alanさんに出ていただく。
お金が絶えて、日本語レッスンを辞める。

hashigo recording also continues. Around this time, I get carried away and layer a full choir of harmonies on "fuguai".
On the 8th, played solo at Fourth Floor (Kichijoji). Met singer Manami Yamamoto.
On the 16th, hashigo played at Ongaku no Jikan (Mitaka). Met How To Count Planets and Emi Inahata, who would help us tour in August–September.
On the 18th, played solo at Wasted Time (Shibuya).
On the 24th, hashigo played at Ringoya (Ikebukuro). Old friend/bad influence Mikihito Nakahira also played. Met madcap accordionist Alan Patton, who would play in a hashigo event in June.
Gave up on Japanese lessons.

march・3月

梯子の録音が続く。この頃に「悲しみは知識である」のボーカルを再録する。
刷り過ぎたファーストアルバム「呼吸三昧」の余分な枚数を処分するため、「面白い処分し方」を募集する。出てくる案の中のいくつかを密かに実行する。
ブルーアワーの録音・ミックスも続く。
埼玉県で行われる子ども向きの「英語会」で、たくさんの子ども達の前で歌を歌う。初めての経験。
某メンバーの結婚パーチーで、cubic star minimal orchestraが一曲を演奏。
1日に三軒茶屋グレープフルーツムーンで、cubic star minimal orchestraの出演。小川晃一君も共演。
2日に水地こはるさんというアングラアイドルのライブでサポートギターを弾く。自分の技術の無さに唖然とする。
8日に千葉県で、やちよにというバンドのゲストメンバーとして、ギターを弾く。ギターの間違いが相次ぐ。
11日に渋谷ウエステッドタイムで、ソロ出演。
16日に南青山ルナーで、梯子ノ上デの出演。?flooowerchildren（飯島みほちゃん）も共演。みほちゃんの凄まじい映像とメルヘンみたいな曲にうっとり。
19日に吉祥寺フォースフロアで、ソロ出演。
20日に高円寺ムーンストンプで、ソロ出演。

hashigo recording continues. Around this time I redid the vocals for "kanashimi".
In 2009 I pressed way too many copies of my first album "kokyu zanmai", so I began asking people for ideas of how to get rid of them. And then on the sly, I started.
Bluehour recording/mixing continues.
Played a set in front of a big crowd of kids at an English event in Saitama. A new experience.
Cubic star played a song at the wedding party of a certain member.
On the 1st, a cubic star show at Grapefruit Moon (Sangenjaya). Koichi Ogawa also played.
On the 2nd, I played support guitar for Koharu Mizuchi, an underground cosplay idol. Astonished myself at how much I suck at guitar.
On the 8th, played guitar as a guest member in Yachiyoni. Further astonishment.
On the 11th, played solo at Wasted Time (Shibuya).
On the 16th, hashigo played at Lunar (Minami-Aoyama) with ?flooowerchildren (Miho Iijima). Peculiar songs, peculiar videos.
On the 19th, played solo at Fourth Floor (Kichijoji).
On the 20th, played solo at Moon Stomp (Koenji).

april・4月

ブルーアワーの録音。多分この頃はギターとドラムを録っていた。
アコースティックギターを修理に出す。
11日に渋谷ウエステッドタイムで、ソロ出演。
果たして続けるのだろうと疑りながら、ジムに通い始める。
突然妻が倒れて入院。恐ろしい日々。

Sent my guitar in for repairs.

Start going to a gym. How long will this last?
My wife gets sick all of a sudden and has to be hospitalized. A scary time.

may・5月

cubic star minimal orchestraと梯子ノ上デが一緒に福島へ遠征。各地を廻って演奏する。
ブルーアワー録音。今度はベースとドラム。よく深夜に録っている。
14日に日本武道館でシガーロスを見に行って、翌日15日にソロ演奏をする。いや、対比にもならないけど。
梯子ノ上デの録音。desaturation songのボーカルをまたまた録り直す。メンバーに怒られる。はい、やっとこれで完パケ！
19日にウエステッドタイムで、梯子ノ上デの出演。
30日に三鷹おんがくのじかんで、梯子ノ上デの出演。
妻は一ヶ月の入院を終えて、退院。

cubic star and hashigo go to Fukushima together. Play at several places.
Bluehour recording, late at night. Bass, drums.
Saw Sigur Rós at the Budokan on the 14th, then played a show of my own on the 15th. Umm... no comparison.
Re-, re-recorded vocals for "desaturation song". And finished the album!
On the 19th, hashigo played at Wasted Time.
On the 30th, hashigo played at Ongaku no Jikan in Mitaka.
After a month in the hospital, my wife came home.

june・6月

岩島のぞみ（ピアノ）と臼井里奈（タップダンス）と一緒に、トリオを組む。めちゃくちゃ練習して、一切ライブしない。
2日に、二子玉川のマルシェドクルールという青空市場で、梯子ノ上デは出演。極まりなく気持ちいい一日。
4日に下北沢THREEでcubic star minimal orchestraの出演。
7日に池袋鈴ん小屋で梯子ノ上デの出演。
15日におんがくのじかんで、iiさんが企画したライブにお呼ばれ。快適な環境の中で、僕だけちょっと暗いオーラを醸し出す。
16日に下北沢カラードジャムで、梯子ノ上デの企画イベント。Alan PattonさんとYour Last Chickenさんが共演。とってもいいライブ。
cubic star minimal orchestraを脱退する。
娘が来日し、一年ぶりに会える。

Formed a trio with Nozomi Iwashima (piano) and Lina Usui (tapdance). This trio always practices, never plays live.
On the 2nd, hashigo played at an open-air market in Nikotama called Marche du Couleurs. Lovely weather for music.
On the 4th, cubic star played at Three (Shimokita).
On the 7th, hashigo played at Ringoya.
On the 15th, I played solo at an event held by ii at Ongaku no Jikan. I was the icicle on the beard of this otherwise warm and friendly show.
On the 16th, hashigo put on an event at Colored Jam (Shimokita). Alan Patton and Your Last Chicken played. An outstanding lineup.
I left cubic star.
My daughter came to Japan. It had been a year since we'd last met.

july・7月

こつこつブルーアワーの録音。
特筆すべきのライブを二本見た：
- 小平智恵＆?flooowerchildren ＠神保町試聴室。ライブが素晴らしくて、お店も気に入って、今度の梯子企画をそこでやることに決める。
- mmmのラストライブ。素晴らしい終わり方。なんだか凛々しい。
14日にウエステッドタイムでソロ出演。
26日にフジロックというフェスには、出なかった。
27日に水地こはるさんのライブでサポートギター。当日の書き下ろし「うろこ」も発表。
もう一人の某メンバーの結婚パーチーに出席。

Continue chipping away at the Bluehour project.
Saw two shows of note:
- Chie Kodaira and ?flooowerchildren at Shichoshitsu in Jinbocho. A great show, and I liked the venue so much that hashigo held our next event there.
- mmm's last show. What a charming and gallant way to end a career.
On the 14th, played solo at Wasted Time.
On the 26th, did not play at Fuji Rock.
On the 27th, played support guitar for Koharu Mizuchi. Also played my song "uroko", written that very day.
Attended the wedding party of yet another member.

august・8月

ブルーアワー：一曲のギター録り直し。最高の作品を目指すならやはりこだわった方がいい。ドラムなども録り続ける。
流通会社ブリッジさんに出会う。梯子ノ上デの新譜「矢鴨行進曲」の流通が決定。
梯子ノ上デの「悲しみは知識である」のPVを作ってみる。メンバーに「これじゃ完全アウトだぜ」と却下される。
独り旅に出る。この旅に立つ前にも、実はずっと東京のあっちこっちで「呼吸三昧」を逆万引きしていた。逆万引きとは、そのお店に忍ばせて棚にこっそりと残して去ることだ。今月の独り旅で日本の色々なところに巡って、ついでにどこもここも逆万引きを行った。合計100枚以上さばいたよ。
8日にウエステッドタイムでソロ出演。
9日に鈴ん小屋で、天才ピアニスト岩島のぞみと二人で出演。いつものリスナーは口々に岩島を絶賛喝采。
15日に代々木アルティカでソロ演奏。共演は揺れる魚さん、nananeroliさん、不知火庵くん。かなり良いメンツだよね。
25日に北参道ストロボカフェで、梯子ノ上デの出演。ふるんさんというイベンターの企画。共演は惑星のかぞえかた（久々の再会）と雰囲気ゾワゾワ楽団。雰囲気さんは演奏がとっても面白い。
31日に梯子ノ上デはプチツアーに出る。名古屋で、いなはたえみさんが企画してくれたライブに出る。

Bluehour: re-recorded guitar for one song. If you want to make something good, you've got to take the time to get it right.
Met Bridge, a distributor in Tokyo. They agreed to distribute the new hashigo album "March of the Yagamo".
I made a video for the hashigo song "kanashimi", which the band took one look at and said, "Hell, no."
Took a ramble around Japan. Actually, for several months I'd been reverse-shoplifting copies of "kokyu zanmai" onto the shelves of stores around Tokyo. I continued this on my trip, like a Johnny Appleseed of CDs. I got rid of around 100 of them.
On the 8th, played solo at Wasted Time.
On the 9th, played at Ringoya as a duo with Nozomi. People loved her.
On the 15th, played solo at Artica (Yoyogi). Also playing: Yureru Sakana, Nananeroli, Iori Shiranui. A likely bunch.
On the 25th, hashigo played in a Furun-curated event at Strobe Café (Kita-Sando). Met How to Count Planets again, and got to meet Fun'iki Zowa Zowa Gakudan, who put on a captivating peformance.
hashigo started a mini-tour on the 31st, heading to Nagoya to play a show arranged by Emi Inahata.

september・9月

梯子ツアーが続く。1日は三重県の四日市。8/25に共演した雰囲気さんのメンバーが別でやっているミミコというバンドも共演。
トリオ（一切公演しない方）で、この哀れな僕は、ギターソロを弾くように命じられる。猛練習の日々が続くのに、向上は一切見られない。
「悲しみは知識である」のPVを、またゼロから作り直す。今度は、何度か調整したら、メンバーの認可が下りる。
ブルーアワーの音源にベース、ピアノ、グロッケンを加える。
15日にウエステッドタイムでソロ演奏。
16日にムーンストンプで、メキシコ国立記念日を祝うためのイベントで、メキシコのカバー曲（しかもスペイン語で！）をはじめ、全曲カバー曲というごく稀なライブ。
「矢鴨行進曲」の発売の前に、色んなお店に挨拶に行く。営業マッスルが鍛えられる。
27日におんがくのじかんでソロ出演したら、その足でヤガモ放送局の事務所に移動して新譜の「前夜祭放送」を行う。
28日に「矢鴨行進曲」が発売。
初めてのんべえ横町で飲む。
ジムを諦める。

hashigo tour continues. On the 1st, we play in Yokkaichi. One band, Mimiko, is a sister-group to Fun'iki, who we played with on 8/25.
In the trio (which never performs), I am commanded to play a guitar solo. Desperate practice ensues, but I improve not a whit.
Completely remake the video for "kanashimi". After a bit of editing, this one gets band member approval.
Add bass, piano, and glockenspiel to the Bluehour project.
On the 15th, I play solo at Wasted Time.
On the 16th, I play solo at a Mexican Independence Day event at Moon Stomp. I do a Mexican cover song (in Spanish!) and go on to do covers for my whole set.
Visit tons of record stores in the Tokyo area to pimp the new hashigo CD.
On the 27th, play solo at Ongaku no Jikan, and then head over to the Small Finger studios to do a live net broadcast to ring in the new album.
On the 28th, "March of the Yagamo" is released.
Quit the gym.

october・10月

梯子ノ上デは「矢鴨行進曲」を記念するために学芸大学の創作イタリアン、オステリアジャポネーゼで、リリースディナーを行う。料理がめっちゃおいしくてみんなが干上がって昇天する。
梯子ノ上デ「不合格」のPVを作る。
18日に鈴ん小屋でソロ出演。
20日に新宿２１世紀でソロ出演。Violette Mothさんも共演。
梯子ノ上デが企画したライブの準備のため、iiさんと平沢なつみさんとdodoさんと岩島のぞみさんと一緒に、バラバラだけどいっぱい練習する。
ブルーアワー：入山ひとみさんバイオリンを録る。
初めて韓国に旅行する。
誕生日を迎える。
在留カードを更新する。

To commemorate our new album, hashigo holds a release dinner at Osteria Giapponese. The food is so good that everybody melts into puddles in ecstasy.
Make a video for the hashigo song "fugokaku".
On the 18th, play solo at Ringoya.
On the 20th, play solo at 21 Seiki, with Violette Moth also on the bill.
To get ready for our big event next month, hashigo rehearses (separately) with ii, Natsumi Hirasawa, dodo, and Nozomi Iwashima.

november・11月

やっとブルーアワーのボーカルを録る。ミックスに入る。
1日に、またヤガモ放送局を行う。
3日に、梯子ノ上デが企画したイベント「矢鴨ノ文化祭」が威風堂々と行われる。dodoもii×平沢なつみも岩島のぞみも、目覚ましい演奏をしてくれる。
18日にウエステッドタイムでソロ演奏。
20日にフォースフロアでソロ演奏。
Violette Mothのウェブサイトを立ち上げるのに少しお手伝いする。
娘がまた来日し、また会える。

Bluehour: we finally get to the vocals, and then start mixing it.
On the 1st, we do another live net broadcast.
On the 3rd, hashigo hosts an event, maybe the best we've ever had. ii and Natsumi, dodo, and Nozomi all work magic.
On the 18th I play solo at Wasted Time.
On the 20th, I play solo at Fourth Floor.
I help Violette Moth begin to put together an official website.
My daughter comes to Japan, so we meet again.

december・12月

8日に高円寺カフェウーハで、ソロ出演。9月に共演したnananeroliさんのご紹介で見つけたお店。
13日にウエステッドタイムで、梯子ノ上デの出演。
トリオの練習は続く。公演する脈は薄い。
ブルーアワーの音源はそろそろ出来上がりそう。「アイ・アム・ゼロ」という一曲のボーカルを再再録。
駅前で「呼吸三昧」を配ってみる。また100枚くらいさばいてやる。清々した！
某日曜日に、味の素スタジアムで行われる駅伝に出場する。オッサン・チームだけど、なんとか418組中68位をとる。
暇つぶしがてらに、昔の曲「不正データ」のMVを改めて作ってみる。なぜか世の反応が薄い。
冬は切迫する。良いお年を。

On the 8th, play solo at Café U-ha in Koenji. Nananeroli turned me on to the place.
On the 13th, hashigo plays at Wasted Time.
Trio rehearsals continue. No sign of a show on the horizon.
The Bluehour project comes tantalizingly close to fruition. Re-re-record vocals for "I Am Zero".
Hand out another 100 copies of "kokyu zanmai" in front of stations.
Run in a relay race at Ajinomoto Stadium. Our team comes in 68th out of 418 teams.
Remake the video for old song "fusei data".
Winter cometh apace. Have a grand new year.
