Question: What does the man mean?
You should have chosen "4" because it is the right answer.
played a show at ringoya in ikebukuro tonight. everyone but me on the bill was female. i imagine you know how i felt about that.
First up was Ai Fujiwara. (Earlier I misreported her first name as Megumi.) Female singer-songwriter: versatile, powerful singing voice, skillful piano, and heavy songs that incorporate elements of traditional Japanese music. We'd played together before, but I was slow to recognize her, partly because she'd changed her hairstyle and partly because I'm a dunce. Her site is here.
After that was The Jailbyrds. A band-esque band name, but she's a solitary female singer-songwriter on acoustic guitar. Delicate vocals, an amicable sound. After the show, talked a bit, discovered mutual acquaintances, got to look at some pictures she'd painted, found her to be a nice, friendly youngster. Her site is here.
After that, Yumi Hirao. The last time we played together was a few years ago in Shimokitazawa. Just as before, her singing was skillful and her entire performance polished, in the spirit of old-school singer-songwriting. Her site is here.
I was worried about forgetting the words or chords to my songs. As I reliably do. But this time I got most of the way through without any errors. So I got self-satisfied, complacent, and blew it on the last song. Ha.
Oh, well. You can't change your nature.
My set list:
My next show is on the 19th at Wasted Time in Shibuya. Then on the 29th there's the big cubic show. And on 12/1 there's a hashigo show I think you'll like. Kommen sie bitte. Details here.
